What it takes.

Income
At least $1,500 a month, steady and documented.
Time
File through the Secretaría General, then register the approval with the Instituto Nacional de Migración within 30 days of receiving it.
Cost
$300 application charge, plus $20 for each year of the residence card and document legalisation costs.
The hard part
The $1,500 monthly pension must be permanent, stable and foreign-sourced, with the evidence legalised and translated for the Secretaría General filing.
