Ten continuous years of lawful residence counted from legal entry, with a proven lawful income; the applicant must be no older than 50 when filing. Palestinians are excluded except a Palestinian woman married to a Libyan.
Two passports
Usually not: new citizens are asked to give up their other citizenship.
  • Employer work approval and the residence card are separate; only continuous legal residence after lawful entry builds Libya’s ten-year period.
  • How long the decision takes isn’t published; we allow a year.
