A visa to live, work remotely and travel in Namibia for up to 6 months; not renewable, and a new one can be sought 12 months after it ends.

The main applicant must show at least $2,000 a month in foreign income, plus $1,000 for an accompanying spouse and $500 per accompanying child.

Time: A few weeks once the application is submitted by email to NIPDB.

The hard part: None structurally hard, but the visa is capped at 6 months with no stated renewal, so it is not a long-term base.

Time away: Ten years of continuous ordinary residence in Namibia on a permanent residence permit; time on temporary permits does not count. Permanent residence itself has no set waiting time: the Immigration Selection Board grants it on character, means and skills (Immigration Control Act, s. 26(3)).
Two passports: Usually not: new citizens are asked to give up their other citizenship.

Time on this program does not count toward permanent residence or citizenship; the family would need to switch to one that does.

Time you must spend there: The visa itself is a fixed 6-month term, not a days-per-year requirement.
Tax: A 6-month stay generally falls below Namibia’s tax-residence threshold, so foreign remote income is typically untouched.
