Working visa for the approved employment, following the separate labour authorization.

The applicant needs a recommendation from the relevant government line agency, Department of Labor work permit, Home Affairs work agreement, appointment or contract, and employer tax clearance.

Time: Same-day immigration processing for a complete non-tourist file submitted before 1 p.m.; labour, line-agency and Home Affairs approvals come first.
Cost: Visa-information page lists a base of US$60 per month, with extra fees for re-entry; labour-permit and document costs are separate.
The hard part: Securing the labour permit and line-agency recommendation before conversion from visitor status.

Two passports: Usually not: new citizens are asked to give up their other citizenship.

Time on this program does not count toward permanent residence or citizenship; the family would need to switch to one that does.
Nepal has no ordinary residence naturalisation option; the statutory 15-year grant is limited to foreigners with special national contributions and reciprocity.

Time you must spend there: The program sets no minimum number of days. Renewal still expects it to be your home.
