Local Business Employment Visa

Multiple-entry residence and work for up to 12 months, tied to the named employer.

The employer must be a Nauruan citizen or a wholly Nauruan-owned licensed business and submit an employment contract or accepted offer with reasons for hiring a foreign national.

Time: The issuing authority decides the application after the complete sponsored file and prerequisite approvals are lodged.
Cost: AUD 300 individual multiple-entry fee; medical, police and document costs are separate.
The hard part: A qualifying wholly Nauruan-owned sponsor and justification for hiring abroad.

Time on this program does not count toward permanent residence or citizenship; the family would need to switch to one that does.
Nauru’s 20-year residence citizenship provision is confined to people born in Nauru to non-citizen parents; foreign-worker residence does not qualify.
