2

What it takes.

Investment
About $75,000.
Age
21 or older.
Time
2–4 months: roughly 30–45 working days for the probationary SIRV, plus 15–20 more once the Board of Investments confirms the converted investment.
Cost
A few thousand dollars in Board of Investments and Bureau of Immigration fees plus roughly $3,000–5,000 in legal and accounting help to structure the investment; the $75,000 itself is capital, not a fee.
The hard part
Finding and maintaining a genuinely BOI-qualifying investment vehicle, and keeping the paper trail current since withdrawing the capital cancels the visa.

Dollar figures are converted from the local currency at the rate the program’s research used; the official figure is in the local currency.

Usually not: new citizens are asked to give up their other citizenship.
  • An indefinite visa that lasts as long as the investment does; only years actually lived in the Philippines help toward the ten-year court way to citizenship.
  • How long the decision takes isn’t published; we allow a year.
  • This country asks new citizens to give up their other citizenship.

Living there.

Time you must spend there
The program sets no minimum number of days. Renewal still expects it to be your home.
Tax
The Philippines taxes resident aliens only on Philippine-source income; income from the invested enterprise itself is subject to ordinary Philippine tax.

We never file a tax return. We tell you what applies and brief the professional who does.
