Who qualifies

Purchase real estate valued at at least $400,000 (raised from $250,000 in June 2022), verified by an official appraisal, and keep a title-deed annotation barring resale for 3 years.

What it takes.

Investment: About $400,000.
Time: 6–12 months from purchase to passport.
Cost: About $410,000–430,000: the $400,000 property, appraisal, legal fees and the 3-year no-resale restriction’s opportunity cost.
The hard part: Finding a property that survives the mandatory official appraisal at the full $400,000 value; overpriced or undervalued listings are a common source of delay.
