INV investment visa

Multiple-entry investment visa for up to three years, subject to approved investment and immigration conditions.

The applying enterprise must document foreign investment of at least 8,500 times Uzbekistan’s base payment amount for acquiring shares or establishing a foreign-invested enterprise.

The visa can be valid up to three years and extended in Uzbekistan; the enterprise applies on the investor’s behalf.

You keep your U.S. citizenship.

An Uzbek enterprise can request an INV visa for a qualifying foreign equity investment or enterprise establishment.

Time: The issuing authority decides the application after the complete sponsored file and prerequisite approvals are lodged.
Cost: Government charges are assessed under the issuing authority’s schedule; sponsor, translation and document costs are separate.
The hard part: The qualifying investment calculation in current local currency and enterprise sponsorship.

Language: Uzbek sufficient for everyday communication.
Civics: Undertake to observe the Constitution.
Time away: Five continuous years from issuance of a permanent residence permit to the citizenship application, with lawful income.
Two passports: Usually not: new citizens are asked to give up their other citizenship.

Time on this program does not count toward permanent residence or citizenship; the family would need to switch to one that does.
The investment visa is renewable residence, but the citizenship period begins only once permanent residence is granted.

Time you must spend there: The program sets no minimum number of days. Renewal still expects it to be your home.
