Time away
Five years of permanent residence before the application, good character, familiarity with Samoan civic life and an intention to continue living in Samoa.

  • Time on this program does not count toward permanent residence or citizenship; the family would need to switch to one that does.
  • Study residence does not itself satisfy the five years of permanent residence required for Samoan citizenship.
